NH Rapid Response
WHAT IS RAPID RESPONSE?
Rapid Response is a NH Works program designed to assist workers dislocated due to a layoff or business closure. The program’s mission is to provide statewide, early intervention re-employment services at no cost to businesses and to their employees affected by layoffs and/or closings.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
When a group of 25 or more workers is dislocated, NH Works will coordinate with the employer to arrange a meeting with affected employees. A team of local NH Works Center staff will meet with the employees to discuss the programs and opportunities available to dislocated workers, including unemployment insurance, job retraining, health and human service programs and vocational rehabilitation assistance and counseling.
Rapid Response helps workers design a plan for re-employment, including retraining, and helps address the many questions a dislocated worker has regarding state and federal programs.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
- Dislocated workers who have experienced company layoffs.
- Businesses facing a downturn in sales and are looking for alternatives to layoffs.
- Businesses who find it necessary to lay off workers and seek to make the transition as smooth as possible for the company, affected employees, and the community.
- Businesses who are growing quickly and looking to hire skilled workers from companies that are downsizing.
